Banners and Logos

Coders tend to forget that everything is not as easy for the average non-coder as it is for even the below average coder. A case in point is the use of banners (some call them logos) where a search at Runboard Support yields "Results 1 - 10 of about 6,410 from ]Runboard Support Board." Even if we grant that only 1% of the search results are actual questions that still gives us 64 questions on what should be the simplest and most intuitively obvious part of designing ones own Runboard!

Not only that but the questions are scattered all over the place by both time and forums and the ]Runboard Extra adds an additional 85 entries to this mix! Clearly then, there is a need for a comprehensive guide dealing with this subject so both new and old Runboard owners can decide how and what to do when it comes to a Runboard Banner/logo.

Re: First steps

Before anything can be done on a Runboard message board you have to change your board over to what is called a "custom layout." Even if you do not change the default theme Runboard uses when a board is created this is required to tell Runboard that you are going to change things on your message board.

Details on how to do this are found on the Runboard Support Forums (#post220591]here).

Re: First steps

Once you have the board changed over to a "custom" layout you are ready to explore your banner (or community logo) options. There are three main ways to put a banner on your board and I'll take them one at a time. First, when you go to your boards control panel look for the button labelled "Edit layout / colors of your board." That is your 2nd choice on the third column of "Administrator Options" as shown in the picture below...
