Pastor Rick

I'm having trouble figuring out where I left off on skin updates. I'll figure it out after my vacation.

The Ten Commandments of Runboard (a fantasy)

April 17, 2011 at 4:00am

scene 1: Lesigner Girl and Erika walking into the break room when suddenly a bright light shines down and they see Pastor Rick given a tablet and a Runboard coffee cup.

scene 2: Pastor Rick, grows a beard and long hair then starts reading the tablet (in a Charlton Heston voice) saying:

The Ten Commandments of Runboard
1. I am Thor who brought thee out of the world of mismanaged subscription boards

2. Thou shalt not be forced to pay for message boards anymore

3. Thou shalt not share thy password with another

4. Remember thy Runboard and share it with others

5. Honor thy Message board and keep it active

6. Thou shalt not spam

7. Thou shalt not spread illegal content

8. Thou shalt not slander one another

9. Thou shalt not covet another boards cool design

10. When thou shalt ask for Support it shall be granted unto thee

scene 3: Light fades away, Pastor Rick returns to normal, shakes his head and says "I hate it when he does that... want some coffee?"

Upside down economy

March 27, 2011 at 10:35pm

This past Saturday I loaded up my lawnmowers and went down to my church to help with the first mowing of the year. I know it is odd for a senior pastor to do this but I like to get around the church members as much as I can. So i stopped by and picked up my brother and off we went, it was looking good when we got "old red" to start up. Old red is now starting its tenth mowing season and is held together by coat hanger wire and duct tape Image.

The other mower which was less than a year old though... a totally different story because despite everything we could do it just refused to start. So we called over to the lawn mower shop and they told us they charged $45.00 just to look at it! Then we took the mower back to where we bought it to see what they could do. I was hopeful that the mower would still be under some kind of warranty. Well, it was and it wasn't... the store would not repair the mower but they told us that if we gave them $25.00 we could swap the broken mower for a brand new one! Of course I took the deal but it is sad to think that getting a mower fixed costs more than just swapping it out for a new one... and the really sad part... the store told me if the new one broke anytime in the next two years they would do the swap again!

Now the cool part is that we did get the churches yard mowed so everything worked out great for us when it was all said and done. Image

TSA Screenings

November 30, 2010 at 4:54am

Nope, I am not going political on this but I find it very weird when the "puffer machines" (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Explosives_trace-detection_portal_machine) are phased out and the new x-ray scanners promoted by former Homeland Security secretary Michael Chertoff (http://www.boston.com/news/nation/washington/articles/2010/01/02/group_slams_chertoff_on_scanner_promotion/) is suddenly being touted as the way to go. No mention is made why the Iscon scanners were not considered (http://www.isconimaging.com/index.htm) even though they are now being used by the U.S. Department of Corrections (http://finance.yahoo.com/news/US-Corrections-Facility-iw-2422628358.html?x=0&.v=1). One wonders why the privacy concerns of criminal suspects are more important to the government than the privacy and health concerns of the general flying public. Could it be that political friendships and ties are more important than doing the ethical and morally correct thing?

The Runboard Webring

June 14, 2010 at 6:17am

Well I was thinking about doing a board hop but those get really tedious for me. I know others that like them but keeping track of the links and posting in each board is time consuming. At the same time I wanted a way were any public Runboard could join in at any time and the board hop makes that hard to do as well.

So I have created a Runboard Web-ring. It took some doing and messed up the database for RunSearch at first but finally the default settings are working correctly. The code suffers from table-itis but hopefully that can be corrected as I get time...

The host for the code is RBBT.NET
The home site for the Web-Ring is Runboard Design

Drop on by and take a look. The Runboard Web-Ring is now active and accepting members.

The Runboard Store

June 4, 2010 at 1:54pm

Once I received permission from Thor to do this I created a "official" Runboard Products store. The store host I chose has many International sites so instead of just posting a link to the USA store I created a announcement posting in TRD here:

so people can order their own Runboard products. I set the first of the official products (a t-shirt, coffee cup, ball cap, and bumper sticker) to show as featured items and have set the Runboard graphic as a template which allows you to create and order over 100 different items. Any and all profits generated by the Runboard store will go to charity. The first charity is a 114 year old orphanage located in Texas.

Personal bio

I was called to the ministry back in 1971 and have been active in the preaching and teaching Gods message to man ever since. In 2005 I discovered Runboard while in search of a free message board site. After looking at the other options, I chose Runboard as the best option for my ministry because I could change everything to match my website. Later I added RBBT.Net as a 3rd party supporter for Runboard and the RunSearch engine.
